Dear valued friends and customers,
We extend our sincerest sympathies to all those affected by the floods, which also impacted us at Lydia Jordane - Lycon Cosmetics. The flood covered 3000m2 of our manufacturing and office premises at various depths up to 1 metre.

Mud and ruin all over: swollen gyprock walls, mud soaked carpet and a totally damaged showroom, furniture, some packaging and finished products. Fortunately the flood waters did not get too high, so there was only superficial damage to our production machinery. Miraculously, most of our ready stock on hand and raw materials were unaffected and well away from the water's reach in another building.
We started the clean up process on Friday 14 January 2011, with an amazing amount of help from staff, family, friends and volunteers. So many helping hands, muscles, shovels, gurneys, generators, brooms, mops, gum boots, squeegees, sponges, disinfectant etc in action all over… with no electricity or network access for a few days. Others cooked up a typical Aussie sausage sizzle or brought in yummy food and cold drinks.
In spite of it all, there was an amazing energy amongst everyone, lots of smiles and laughter along the way, even though we could not resist and pause from time to time, shaking our heads in disbelief...but the smiles and good humour won over, with mud smears on us from head to toe.
Today, Wednesday 19 January 2011, we have electricity, network access and one of our manufacturing areas is up and running. We are amazed extremely grateful and would like to thank everyone for the assistance, support and concern offered to us during these trying times.
We also feel very fortunate that there was no greater damage and feel deep sympathy for the ones who lost everything, including family and friends.
